Who?

John Kuraoka, a San Diego-based freelance advertising copywriter with 35 years of experience in just about every product category.

Central Contractor Registration information:

DUNS number: 123569316
CAGE code: 668N8

Education (by-the-book):

I graduated January 1985 from California State University at Fullerton with a BA in communications (emphasis on advertising) and a very strong minor in English. I was also a member of Alpha Delta Sigma, presumably a national honor society associated with the American Advertising Federation. Have you ever heard of it? I thought not.

Education (real-life):

Since June 1989, I have been a freelance advertising copywriter, providing marketing and creative services to advertising agencies, design studios, and businesses worldwide.

From February 1988 to June 1989, I was a copywriter at Knoth & Meads, an advertising agency in San Diego, California. They later merged with Phillips-Ramsey, which is currently known as MeadsDurket.

From September 1984 to January 1988, I was a copywriter at Doyle & Partners (nee Doyle-VanFossen), an advertising agency in Laguna Hills, California. Mark Doyle was former creative director of Chiat/Day.

From September 1983 to September 1984, I was the entire creative department at Targeted Coverage, Inc., a direct mail house in Pomona, California.

Interesting tidbit:

I am an Eagle Scout (awarded in 1980), and from high school through college spent my summers working at a Boy Scout camp in the Sequoia National Forest.
